Antoine-Afred Marche was a French explorer, ethnographer, and scientist in the 1900s. He contributed extensively to the worlds's knowledge of the Philippine and Mariana Islands. On 22 April Marche arrived on Guam to conduct an exploration of the Mariana Islands under the auspices of the French research institution. He travelled throughout the Mariana Islands for two years collection various specimens including birds, seeds, plants and human bones.
